Congratulations to *Poe-It for her poem Paper Cuts... which can be found below and at this [link]

Assembly line
Place first crease in letter so the bottom of the page is just below the line that reads:
“to provide a loyal service in loving memory…”
Fold top of page over and crease. Hide truth.
Place in envelope. Include a business card with a calendar on the back.
Back towards kitchen. He sits in his usual chair watching MADtv.
Turn around, but he’s not there. He’s upstairs.
Place label with customer address in middle of the front of the envelope.
Use rubber stamp with return mailing address on upper left-hand corner of envelope.
Thirsty. Go upstairs where he is to get bottle of water. He’s not there.
He’s in the basement playing pool. Water isn’t cold so get another from the basement.
He’s not there. He’s in the living room. Bring cold water to dining room and continue assembly line.
Wet brush and slide over glue and seal in tight the letter and the business card with the calendar on the back. Thirsty.Take deep drink of cold water. Focus on the water.
Repeat assembly line 180 times.
It’s very important to remember to place the first crease so the bottom of the page is just below the line that reads: “to provide a loyal service in loving memory…”
Use rubber finger tips to avoid paper cuts. Count sealed envelopes and multiply by the cost of stamps.
When done go to living room. He’s not there. His wife’s there sobbing.
A picture of him in a black frame sits on the coffee table.
He must be having his evening cigar outside. Get bandages for paper cuts not avoided with the rubber finger tips. Thirsty.
Go back to forgotten water. Water isn’t cold so get another from the basement.
He’s still not there. He must still be outside having his evening cigar.
Gather the 180 envelopes that contain sealed letters of truth
and a business card with a calendar on the back and bottle of cold water to take to the post office.
Leave to the post office and say goodbye to him while he smokes his evening cigar.
He’s not there.
He must be asleep.
