By the poets, for the poets

Comments for Poets

*unknown-poet-project:iconunknown-poet-project: Jan 13, 2008, 11:22:20 AM
Here is the new Comments for Poets feature!
(for members of unknown-poet-project Group)

Instead of staff selecting poems to be featured, we are opening up CfP for anyone and everyone. This is how it works:

If you want your poem critiqued, you MUST critique and give feedback on the poem posted above yours.

It must be more than a 'good job' or 'I liked it' statement. If you want to get serious feedback, you must give out serious feedback.

If you could post a link to the poem in your gallery, that would be good to so if others want to leave comments they can write directly on your work.

The staff of the group will be monitoring this forum, to make sure that people are getting decent feedback and watching for growth.

If you have questions, you can note us or leave a question on the Ask the Staff thread.

Cheers! ~honeymfr

What I Never Said Aloud [link]

You're a mystery novel
Habitual
Deceiving
Youthful and quick
Running yourself in circles
Too focused on the details
Unable to patch them together
And develop a lens through which you can see me.

You're a clown
A heart behind a mask
Jolly yet lonely
A performer
An actor
Playing for a selective audience
Who laugh and giggle
But they don't see you struggle like I do.

You're a gypsy,
Unconventional
Passionate
Playful and jaded
Searching for another winding road
For strange and wondrous places
That you'll write books about when you're old
And I'll miss you.

You're hamlet
A poet
A genius
A lover
A pursuer
Once a mixed up boy
Now a man misunderstood
And I've loved you.

Hmmm...intriguing. I believe I shall participate. Here is a poem done awhile ago.

Passion

Anger,
frustration,
love,
lust,
all passion.
The need to say things
that can’t be expressed with words,
passion.
The desire to help others
is a passion.
Raging,
burning,
boiling,
exploding
with frustration
because you can’t
do a damn thing
to make things better.
Wanting to scream so loud,
with so much emotion,
it shakes everyone
to the very core of their being.
Need,
desire,
longing loneliness,
to just have the one thing
that will make everything else
easier to bear.
Knowing,
trying,
but not allowed
to help make things right,
even if you can.
A passion on so many levels,
with so many meanings
and aspects,
that your mind implodes
and explodes over and over,
like the never ending cycle of a star.
Burning,
pushing everything away
until it explodes,
only to create gravity
and pull it all back again.
A vicious,
ferocious,
venomous cycle
that none can escape.
Anger
that you aren’t allowed to help,
frustration
because you know you can,
love
because you want to make them feel better,
lust
because you want him home,
with you,
never ever to leave again.
Such passion only causes pain,
and more vile passion.

I hope you all enjoy it ^__^

I write what I feel deep in my soul. When you see my work, you see a small piece of my soul.

Interesting poem! Kind of dark, but not in a creepy way. I like the shortness of the lines. Because of that, it seems like a series of thoughts, which I really like. The one phrase that stands out is, and excuse me if I misquote you, "Wait! I don't walk barefoot here!" It seems as though there's significance to that. I can't quite put my finger on it, would you be so kind as to tell me what you meant by that?
Again, wonderful work :)

wow, how emotive! What is more, the way you wrote seems to me like analysis of the word "passion" in its every aspect. Respectively, the form reminds me the stream of thoughts: so dense, so fast, so clearly. Therefore, I think it would be useful to give the space to your thoughts. Finally, the gradation impressed me a lot because the ending is logically enhanced to stress and point to your conclusions. Good work!

yes, thanks. I am glad it interested you. ;)

I meant by that phrase that primarily to show that something isnt copying plain rules and because the whole world, its law, is done for the mass of people, some individual may get lost. Secondary, it was meant like a scream. :)

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it :)
As for the spacing for my thoughts...I'm working on that. For some reason my poetry rarely seems to want to come out that way. Also, it kind of helps the quickness in it. But, I shall keep that in mind ^_^ Thanks for reading :D

I see that now...And it really does seem like a scream. Like someone was shouting it in alarm. Great job again!
